Global Warming

“When we think about threats to the environment, we tend to picture cars and smokestacks, not dinner. But the truth is, our need for food  poses one of the biggest dangers to the planet.”

National Geographic, May 2014

The livestock industry is among the greatest contributors to global warming, emitting more greenhouse gases than all our cars, trucks, trains and planes combined.

It involves carbon emission during the food production. 1 kg of beef produces 27.0 kg carbon dioxide, while the same amount of tomato produces 1.1 kg only.
